BIOM 421: OSMOTIC ENGINE
KELLY
I am a 4th year undergraduate student at Colorado State University in the Biomedical and Chemical and Biological Engineering programs. While in high school, I was fortunate enough to intern under a PhD student at CSU in biomedical engineering, and decided that this was where I wanted to make my career, on the leading edge of medicine. My interests mainly lie in pharmaceuticals and biologics, and how to improve patient outcome. When I am not immersed in study, I can be found enjoying the great outdoors and beer, usually in combination.
NICK
I am a 4th year Biomedical and Chemical engineering student. Since I was six I wanted to be a doctor of some kind but never was able to decide what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to be able to help people. When I was sixteen and after taking some chemistry courses, I found a passion for chemistry and CSU offered a dual degree with biomedical engineering. This seemed like the best of both worlds by getting background in chemistry and engineering courses with potential to apply it to medicine. After graduation I intend on working to improve medicine either through pharmaceuticals or medical devices.
SARAH
I am a 4th year Biomedical and Chemical engineering undergrad. Â When I was in seventh grade, my grandmother was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, after I found out how little research there was on this disease, I decided I wanted to go into some kind of research field. Â The older I got, the more I realized how interested I was in tissue engineering and polymer grafting. Â Biomedical and chemical engineering seemed to be the right field to enter in order to pursue this passion. Â Outside of classes and studying, I enjoy playing the piano and hiking.
ELLIOT
I am in my 4th year of my undergraduate education in Chemical & Biological Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. After finishing my degree, I plan on going to medical school and would like to become a surgeon. I have always been passionate about medicine, and hope to make a difference in the medical field. In addition to being a student, I currently work in IT and in repairing computers. I also enjoy music as a hobby outside of school and work, and can play seven instruments including the accordion.
